9.2 Uninstalling TPM Drivers

There are two different methods to uninstall the TPM software drivers; you may choose the method that you are more comfortable with. Remember that you must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group to complete this procedure.

Method 1:

  1. Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs, and scroll thru the list and select the TPM SW Drivers, and click on then click on the Change/Remove button.
  2. Follow the driver's uninstalling instructions.

Method 2:

  1. Go to Start -> Control Panel and double-click Systems.
  2. Select the Hardware tap, and click on the Device Manager button, this will start the Device Manager shown in Figure 9.10
  3. Under the System devices tree search for the TPM device, see Figure 9.11, select the TPM device and right-click, then select Uninstall and follow the instructions provided by the driver's uninstaller.
