3. EMBASSY Security Center

The EMBASSY Security Center (ESC) provides the tools for managing Trusted Platform security settings including platform owner management, user management, trusted drive management, and key management.

The ESC also provides multifactor authentication which enable users to select from various mechanisms including individual passwords, biometrics, smart cards, the TPM, or a combination thereof.

Access the ESC through Start > Programs > Wave Systems Corp (Start Menu) or from the ETS Launch Pad (desktop icon). Setting up the ESC involves establishing TPM ownership, initializing a user and selecting user authentication options to TPM applications and Windows.

Users may notice that certain functions in ESC are ghosted (inactive). This will be caused by one of the two following reasons. First, users may not yet have enabled a function of ESC for which other functions are used. A good example of this is on the Passwords Settings window where many of the functions will remain ghosted until the user performs initialization and then enables the TCG Security Password Vault. Another example is on the Windows Login window where an authentication option may be ghosted until activated by the user or administrator.
