4.3 Enroll Fingerprint or Smartcard
The administrator will choose the Enroll button (see Figure 4.17) to launch a wizard that for setting up Preboot Authentication
for system users using a smart card or fingerprint.

Note: Enrollment is only available to users with Administrative rights.
The Preboot Enrollment wizard will performs the following steps:
- The Preboot Enrollment wizard requires the BIOS System password and the Internal Hard Disk password (see Figure 4.18). If these have not been set,
the Administrator will have the option to create them. Once the password has been entered, press Next to continue.
- Now you are prompted to select the user that is to be enrolled (see Figures 4.19, 4.20, 4.21 and 4.22). Select the userid that belongs to the user being
enrolled, and then press OK. This will update the Select User or Group window. Ensure that the Location field contains the
computer name. Verify the computer name under Control Panel > System > Computer Name. Then press Next to Continue.
Note: By default, the current user will be selected for fingerprint enrollment.
Note2: If the
current user is chosen for fingerprint enrollment, no password is required. If enrolling a different user, the user's Windows password is required.
- Now the administrator is prompted to choose between authentication on bootup with either a smartcard or a fingerprint (see Figure 4.23), make your
selection, and then press Next.
- If smartcard is chosen, the administrator will insert the smartcard and choose two PINs (Personal Identification Numbers) for the smartcard.
If fingerprint is chosen, the wizard will display several screens for enrolling fingerprints for users of the system (Refer to Steps to Enroll/Update users fingerprint for the steps for
enrolling users fingerprints).
- Repeat this process for each user of the system that needs to be enroll for Preboot authentication.
