4.2.1 Changing Passwords

Only a user with Administrator privileges will be able to choose the Change button to change the system level passwords for the system, such as the System User password and an Internal Hard Drive password. To change passwords, the passwords must have been already set and the administrator must know the previous password.

Steps to Change System Password:

  1. Start the EMBASSY Security Center and select Preboot Manager.
  2. Select Change, next to System password has been set (see Figure 4.13), or from the Advanced Settings > BIOS Passwords > System Password > Change
  3. The Change System Password dialog will be shown (see Figure 4.14) prompting users to enter the old password and then to choose the new password and enter it twice in order to set the system password, and then press OK.

    Note: In order to clear the system password you will leave the new password empty.
  4. A message is shown (see Figure 4.15) stating that the password was successfully changed press OK to continue.
