5.1 First Time Configuration

    The first time PIM is started, the First Time Setup Wizard will appear to guide the user through a quick and easy setup process.

    To use PIM the first time:

  1. Access the PIM through Start > All Programs > Security by Wave Systems > Advanced (Start Menu) or from the desktop icon .
  2. A wizard will guide you through first-time setup (see Figures 5.1 - 5.11)
  3. The First Time Setup Wizard will start display information about PIM (see Figure 5.1 & 5.2), Click OK to continue.
  4. Figure 5.3 prompts you to restore from backup, Select No to go to the First Time Setup Wizard. (Yes will allow restoration from a backup).
  5. Enter in the both the First and Last name to begin creation of a profile (see Figure 5.4). A middle name and title are not required.
  6. The Edit Profile screen is displayed (see Figure 5.5 & 5.6). Name the Profile (e.g. Home, or Work) then enter the address information (required fields are designated with an asterisk). This information will be used to allow the user to quickly complete Shopping Cart checkouts and other Web based forms. Please note that this information can be changed or deleted later on using the Profile tab. Click Save to continue.
  7. Figure 5.7 prompts the user to either use their Master Password or create a password that will be used to access your PIM data. Users should ensure that this password is never lost or forgotten.
  8. The First Time Setup Wizard continues with wallet setup (see Figure 5.8). Click OK to continue.
  9. The Credit Card setup window is displayed (see Figure 5.9). Credit Card Information, like all information stored by PIM, is secured by your TPM security hardware. The information entered here will be used to quickly fill Shopping Cart Checkout forms. Credit card information may be entered as desired, click Save to go on or skip this step by clicking Cancel. Please note that this information can be changed or deleted later on using the Wallet Tab.
  10. To enter additional credit cards click Yes. Otherwise, click No. (see Figure 5.10)
  11. The First Time Setup Wizard continues with Backup (see Figure 5.11). Click OK to continue.
  12. Enter in the TPM Security Chip owner password to continue (see Figure 5.12).
  13. Select a directory and enter a filename for the backup file. This backup file is secured by the TPM. It will allow users to restore PIM data in the event that the original data is lost. Select Save to continue.
  14. Click OK through the final Wizard screens (see Figure 5.13).
  15. Note: Right click on the System Tray Icon to add/modify PIM settings.
