Important Note
Please keep in mind the following items when specifying paths:
- The preferred location for an archive is on removable media or a network drive, rather than a fixed local hard drive. However, if using removable media, keep in mind that media should be left in place during automatic archiving.
- If you use a local hard drive for your archive location, remember to periodically back up the archive directories in the event that you experience a disk failure. If the hard disk fails and you do not have a back up, you risk losing some or all of your keys.
- If your PC has multiple users of the TPM, each user must archive his/her keys.
