Smart Card Support with EMBASSY® Trust Suite

Description: Dell PCs where the ETS software is pre-installed support the use of smart cards at pre-boot time to log on to the machine before the Operating System loads. The Dell pre-boot login feature also contains a single sign-on capability to Windows which, when enabled, allows the user to login to Windows automatically after a successful pre-boot smart card authentication.

Wave ETS Enterprise software installations also support industry standard smart card PKI authentication/login to a Windows domain. For this scenario, the domain and the smart card must be preconfigured to support the PKI. Once this configuration is complete, the Wave Secure Login will automatically recognize it.

Limited ETS editions available from select PC manufacturers other than Dell do not support smart card PKI login or Preboot. These systems require an ETS upgrade to gain smart card support.
