Preboot Security

Preboot Security is also known as Preboot Authentication. Preboot Security provides options that allow you to protect access to viewing or modifying the BIOS (or CMOS) settings on this PC, as well as to protect access to the hard drive. You may choose to enable Preboot Security to protect your PC as it is booting up, before the Windows Operating System loads.

The Preboot Security passwords are as follows (all are optional):

Admin - restricts changes in the BIOS (CMOS) settings, if used it must be set before the System password.

System - required to be entered when the system is powered on or returns from standby.

Hard Drive - required to be entered when the hard disk is powered on or returns from standby.

When enabled, Preboot Security will require one or two passwords to be entered.

For your convenience, you may opt to use your fingerprint in place of these passwords. The passwords remain in effect. You add the ability to use a fingerprint scan to enter them. Very quick and convenient.

Use the EMBASSY Security Center - Preboot Manager tab to enroll your fingerprints.

See Automatic Windows Logon to learn how to add Windows login to your fingerprint scan.

Some versions of the EMBASSY Trust Suite do not have all the applications and functions described here.
